Quality assure your own work to ensure accurate and complete analyses/reports/outputs, identifying and investigating any anomalies and ensuring their correction where required. Communicate complex clinical coding information to non-clinical coding professionals. Contribute to ensuring the coding deadline is met each month through regular coding of notes To validate complex clinical data and procedures with clinicians in order to assure depth of coding for accurate payment. Work with clinicians to communicate clearly with ease complex data and information issues to a non-information specialist audience.

To resolve day to day coding queries raised by members of the coding team and assist in the interpretation of complex clinical information ensuring adherence to national coding standards To interpret, implement and cascade within the team all updates of UK National Clinical Coding Standards published in Clinical Coding Standards Reference material or other regular amendments. To regularly attend formal workshops and refresher courses, a portion of which are held off site. Following such training, to update coding classifications and ensure standardisation of coding. To implement national revisions and amendments to Clinical Coding Classifications.

To assist with maintaining and updating the Clinical Coding Instruction Manuals in accordance to national standards. Any other duties as specified by the Clinical Coding Manager or the Head of Business Intelligence.
