Post: Senior Capacity Building Officer

Contract: Fixed Term for 2 years, with a possibility of extension.

Location: Bellshill, North Lanarkshire

Reporting to: Manager and Board of Directors of Utheo Ltd

Hours and rate of pay: 35 hours per week, flexible to meet the requirements of the job including some evenings and weekend work. There will be no additional payment for overtime or unsociable hours, but time off in lieu will be given for hours worked in excess of contracted hours. Circa £ + pension

ROLE

This role will working closely and collaboratively with the Manager and Development

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The primary purpose of the role is to add capacity to the Manager’s schedule of work.
This role is responsible for sustaining and developing our Volunteer Programme, enabling, encouraging, supporting and coordinating volunteers.
You will assist the manager in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the centre, supporting groups and activities.
The role is also responsible for supporting the work we do as the locality host organisation for the Community Solutions programme.
The role is responsible for effective time management of staff, including setting service priorities in a changing environment.
To ensure staff are trained in mandatory areas, and assist staff to reach their full potential through the identification of service-specific training.

**MAIN DUTIES**
- To ensure the smooth running of day-to-day services and activities in the Orbiston

Neighbourhood Centre.
- To liaise and network with external agencies and organisations in ensuring the organisation maximises any available opportunities.

- To undertake promotional work to highlight the work completed by the organisation, partners, etc., attending / supporting events.

**VOLUNTEERS**
- Recruit, manage and support volunteers, undertaking regular performance reviews and giving / organising training as required.
- Oversee recruitment, training, management and support of volunteers.
- Meet all statutory human employer obligations and GDPR regulations.

**CENTRE MANAGEMENT**
- To oversee the successful project-management of services and activities, ensuring projects meet the charitable aims.
- To support the Manager and Development Officer in overseeing projects not controlled by Project Managers.
- To assist manager in ensuring building maintenance and operations, H&S and risk assessment are managed efficiently.
- To advise the Manager in building and maintenance, requirements and to assist in keeping premises and equipment to the required standard.

**COMMUNITY SOLUTIONS**
- Utheo is the host locality organisation for the North Lanarkshire Community Solutions programme in Bellshill. Supporting and chairing the Bellshill Locality Consortium and managing the Locality Activity Programme budget.
- This role will assist the Chair of the consortium, following up on administrative issues relating to Consortia work. You will work closely with partner organisations and agencies to meet the Community Solutions operational requirement. On occasion, you will be required to Chair the meetings and ensure the completion and distribution of robust minutes.

Staff management and leadership Strategic management experience experience, preferably in a third sector Manage CPD and control PVG of staff, organisation, with the ability to motivate directors and volunteers and manage others

Project management of grants, including Experience of securing and delivering budget management and achievement of projects and services. project outcomes

Excellent computer and internet skills and Experience of working from home and proficient in the use of office software and leading a team and organisation to deliver digital tools such as, but not limited to, services digitally when required

Microsoft Office & Teams, Google Accounts,

Canva, Slack, Zoom, social media.

Proven track record of securing, managing Local knowledge of service providers within and reporting on grant funding. Bellshill and North Lanarkshire
