Head Cleaner

**Salary**: NJC Grade C - £21,189 - £21,968 FTE (This will be paid pro-rata to reflect hours and weeks worked)

**Working Pattern**: This is a part-time, permanent position working 22.5 hours per week, 41 weeks per year

This is a part-time, permanent position working 22.5 hours per week Head Cleaner with keyholding responsibilities 17.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 3 hours 30 mins per day between 3pm to 6.30pm and 5 hours per week Monday to Sunday being main keyholder for daily lock up and lettings.

Cleaner:

- You will have the responsibility for maintaining a high level of cleanliness in our buildings through daily duties.
- These duties will include vacuuming, sweeping and washing floors, clean surfaces, dusting and polishing, cleaning lavatories and removing rubbish.
- Liaise with Caretaker on stock levels for cleaning materials and any relevant needs of the rest of the cleaning team.
- Use appropriate machinery to clean the school hall floor.
- Ensure at all times the highest standards of cleaning are adhered to far a safe, clean and tidy environment across the premises for pupils, staff and other users of the premises.

Keyholder:

- Locking up the main school building and external gates from 6.30pm to 7pm Monday, to Friday and returning at end of weekday lets to lock main school hall and front of school too.
- Unlock and lock up the school hall and front of school for our ongoing lettings evenings term time and Sunday mornings all year except bank holidays.
- Ensure all windows, gates and doors are secure and leave site safe against theft, and any fire hazards.
- Ensure Fire Emergency lights are switched on for lettings and switched off at close of letting.
- Ensure intruder alarm is armed correctly before locking main doors and front gates.
- To ensure all areas used by lettings are left clean and tidy with some light cleaning and emptying of rubbish bins etc as required.
- To liaise with Lead Administrator, Caretaker and Senior Leadership regarding lettings, any site issues noted in the course of your duties.

It is a contract, which includes a week’s clean in the Easter holidays and a 2-week clean in the summer holidays.
