**Join Police Digital Service as a Cloud Architect Consultant (CAC)
**The Cloud Architect Consultant is a key role in the PDS Technical Team who has responsibility for providing Architecture and Design services to support successful and timely delivery of the ambitions described in the National Policing Digital Strategyand PDS portfolio in partnership with Home Office, Forces, LEAs and suppliers.

**The Role and Responsibilities**
- Serving as a senior expert to provide technical guidance and leadership on all aspects of architecture and design.
- Act as a design lead, to support the PDS Digital Design Authority in business change decisions ensuring that all architecture activities and deliverables are consistent with standards, policies and strategies defined in the PDS Technical Blueprints.
- Manage separation of control from security design authority responsibilities - represent DDaT at technical and security design authorities to ensure that solutions are technologically sound and in alignment with strategic objectives.
- Define, design, and interpret technical artefacts from business design specifications and capability models to create cloud solutions that meet business requirements in alignment with DDaT solution principles.
- Provide oversight, guidance, and technical assurance when suppliers are engaged in the delivery of technical solution designs and reference architectures on behalf of PDS, ensuring consistent alignment with DDaT solution principles and ‘Security by
- Design’ for internal and external delivery.
- Ensure appropriate quality of technical architecture artefacts, engagement, and managing escalations when they arise.
- Act as the professional lead advisor for the development and documentation of the Forces Technical Strategy and associated roadmaps for engaging and adopting PDS Technical Blueprints
- Undertake the role of technical design authority liaison with Forces for all ICT change and be able to justify and communicate design decisions to forces and project stake holders.
- Support business case development and associated development of benefit identification and realisation plans for current PDS portfolio and planned refresh or future CSR investments
- Contribute to development of appropriate frameworks, standards, libraries and approach to be adopted to implement the PDS portfolio and keep these up to date
- Monitor technological, security, data, social and scientific trends and innovations that could influence PDS and policing’s strategy and business plans, and share good practice and ideas appropriately with NPTC and other key PDS stakeholders.
- Take responsibility for understanding strategic business requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis and recommending technical options. Collaborate with, and facilitate stakeholder groups to ensure the contribution of all relevant stakeholders ismaximised.
- Identify all potential technical risks and mitigation options to ensure the successful delivery of ICT solutions. Contribute the resolution of technical issues
- Develop and maintain technical, business, and process architectures, in particular reference architectures and non-functional requirements including security considerations
- Establish and maintain a documented map of the current hardware, operating systems, licensing models, programming and networking solutions that are used in PDS and across Policing and address with NPTC where technologies are being duplicated or are beingunderutilised.
- To be advisor to Force ICT’s Client Function, acting as a key influencer and decision maker in respect of ICT governance, strategy, planning, assurance, and standard setting, within PDS & with key stakeholders and externally in driving maximum value fromstrategic supplier relationships.

Desirable
- Microsoft technical certifications: Azure Solutions Architect, M365 Enterprise Administrator, Power Platform Solution Architect, DevOps Engineer
- AWS technical certifications: Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer
- Security Certifications: CISSP, CCSP, CSSLP
- Industry recognised architecture certifications eg TOGAF.
