We currently have a great opportunity for a **Community Support Advisor **to play a vital role in reconnecting vulnerable members with their communities. We want to help our local communities come together and engage in people-led events and activities in 8 different locations across Staffordshire.
We’re looking for a dedicated professional to bring our values to life and ensure our customers receive outstanding services.
**The Role**

The postholder will be responsible for supporting older people for whom Covid-19 has exacerbated their isolation and loneliness and damaged their ability to engage with others. They will be responsible for providing a telephone-based response link to ReConnected customers, providing reassurance calls for those customers whose health restricts them from attending sessions in person on occasions and for those who need to build confidence and develop support networks of their own, signposting to other services and support available.
The postholder will signpost members who are experiencing other difficulties that may impact on their ability to manage their home or finances, as well as to engage effectively with others. It could include, for example, debt, poor mental health or insecure accommodation. The postholder will help to explore the root cause of the problem and support individual’s finding sustainable solutions. They will be able to consider the customer’s whole situation and signpost or refer members to third parties where appropriate, such as advice agencies and specialist charities. This complements the help and support that may be provided in-house through Care Plus.
This is a role that will give you a sense of achievement and pride as you help to strengthen or create local community led engagement opportunities, supporting a more cohesive, friendly and safer place to live.
This post is fixed term until May 2025 due to funding received from the National Lottery Community Fund.
**Skills and experience required**:

- Experience of working with vulnerable people from a wide range of backgrounds
- Experience of multi-agency working.
- Knowledge of existing statutory and voluntary sector support and opportunities available to vulnerable adults.
- Ability to work alone and manage own workload.
- Have a good knowledge of the issues affecting older people.
- Experience of using IT (including Microsoft Office)
- Communicates regularly and openly at all levels, both written and oral.
- Due to the nature of this role, an Enhanced DBS will be required._
