Assistant Financial Controller

Our client is a rapidly growing manufacturer of high-technology products. The company is an innovator within their market sector and from their HQ in Leamington Spa, they develop and manufacture products which are sold across the world.
The company are now looking to recruit a fully qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) into the role of Assistant Financial Controller. You will be supporting the FC with the day to day running of the finance department, taking ownership of the production ofmanagement accounts, balance sheet and reconciliations, group reporting, audit planning and line management of two members of the finance team. The team will likely continue to grow as the business grows, so you will also be tasked with further developmentand expanding the team, in order to fully support the growth of the company.
This is a really exciting time to join a dynamic business, so we are looking for qualified accountants, with (ideally) at least 1-2 years PQE (post-qualified experience) in a commercial organisation. Confident communicator and able to step into the FC roleas required.
Key duties & responsibilities;
- Preparation of budgets and forecasts, incl' cash flow and working capital management; this includes presenting to the CFO and the senior executive team.
- Preparation of, and commentary on the monthly management accounts
- Ownership of the balance sheet and all reconciliations
- Ownership of the reporting to the parent company
- Assisting the company tax advisor as required
- Year-end audit planning/working with the auditor.
- Lead on internal stock takes
- Build and support the finance team - line manager to two members of staff at present, likely to grow organically in line with business requirements.
- Management of the fixed assets
- Ownership of group insurance policies including liaising with the broker as required.
- Enhance and support the control environment and corporate governance as the business grows.
- Ad-hoc project work as required.
Key skills & experience required;
- Fully qualified (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) accountant, with ideally at least 1-2 years PQE in a commercial business environment.
- Confident communicator, able to liaise with the internal management team and all key stakeholders. Able to present and input on detailed finance information.
- Some previous line management experience would be beneficial.
- Adaptable and happy to work in a growing, dynamic organisation.
- Very good IT skills (MS Office) and previous experience of company accounting software systems.
