Maidstone, United Kingdom Kent County Council Full time

Advert
This unique post works with Kent Housing Group and the Kent County Council Public Health Team to support excellent partnership working and deliver housing and health projects in Kent. Good housing is one of the most important factors for health and wellbeing in someone’s life.

Kent Housing Group is a forum of all the local authorities in Kent and Medway, most of the housing associations and some affiliate members. It has 10 sub-groups that focus on areas of housing as well as meetings for a senior representative from each member organisation and an Executive Board. It shares good practice, creates protocols and documents, runs events and has a newsletter. This is a complex and rewarding environment where partnership working is key.

This is a fast-paced role where you will support the delivery of the Kent and Medway Housing Strategy and the workplan of the Housing, Health, and Social Care subgroup.

Your focus will be on helping Kent Housing Group members, including local authorities, and housing associations, and wider partners to understand each other’s roles, share best practice and deliver projects to achieve better housing and health for Kent and Medway residents.

You will be an excellent partnership worker, both relationship and outcome focused, with experience of working with a range of stakeholders. You will have a working knowledge of housing, health and social care and working with vulnerable groups in the UK. You will carry out desktop research and collate and display data providing explanations to support decision making and reports. You will develop a good understanding of the importance of housing for health. You will be part of a group identifying training needs and planning suitable webinars and events to meet Kent Housing Group members’ needs.

Although the role requires predominantly online working, you will also be able to attend meetings around Kent and Medway.

If you are passionate about housing and want to make a difference to the lives of people in Kent and Medway, we want to hear from you.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
