Contribute to the performance management of all health providers to ensure they have robust and effective governance arrangements in place, including auditing the training they deliver to staff and reviewing referrals made. Contribute to the Health Boards Safeguarding Responsibilities and promote best practice in keeping victims of VAWDASV safe by providing liaison, training and support to health staff. Maintain and coordinate links within acute settings, especially Emergency Department, Minor Injuries Unit wards and all areas where victims are being nursed throughout SBUHB. Working with the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014, Violence against Women, Domestic Abuse, Sexual Violence (Wales) Act 2015, Wales Safeguarding Procedures 2019, the Mental Capacity Act 2005, and SBUHB Guidelines relating to Safeguarding Adults and Children at Risk.

Provide specialist support to all Health Board employees in relation to Safeguarding Children and Adults at Risk. Initiate appropriate Safeguarding reports and support SBUHB staff to complete referrals to appropriate organisations for individuals within the Local Authority areas or out of area. eg: Child/Adult at Risk, Domestic Abuse. Participate in Domestic Homicide Reviews and Child/ Adult Practice Reviews as required, and feedback to agencies/ HB committees in relation to lessons learnt/ action plans.

Be aware of and comply with relevant legislation, reporting to the Head of Nursing: Safeguarding any potential risk situation. Contribute to the Corporate Safeguarding Team Annual Report. Prioritise, assess, plan, evaluate and deliver all relevant aspects of care to an agreed and expected high standard. They will work closely with the multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team and contribute to the clinical governance process.

Work autonomously and independently in their day to day working, working with mínimal supervision. Frequently deal with sensitive or contentious issues such as allegations of abuse and neglect. Frequently provide advice and support in distressing and emotional situations and may be required to do so under pressure. Show empathy and understanding when providing advice and support to patients and/ or staff.
