The Opportunity:

- Avantor has an excellent opportunity for Senior Laboratory Technician, to join our site in Macclesfield. Your work location is one of our major customer's sites at Silk Road Business Park (SK10 2NA).

This role will be a full-time, 6 month temporary position. Daily you will be working with Scientist and supporting them with kanban and stock management, making reagents, document completion and glassware and plastic collection and washing. 80% of your time, will be supporting laboratory operations and rest of the time will be desk-based completing vital documentation.

Working hours

Monday to Friday from 7:00am/8:00am - 3:00pm/4:00pm

The team
- You will join Quality Assurance Department, a team of 10 Senior Laboratory Technicians, and have a strong sense of teamwork and supporting each other. They work independently with full hands-on support from their manager when it's needed. You’ll belong to our business department Lab and Production Services, which supports leading pharmaceutical companies and laboratories all over the world, in Research and Development within the Life Sciences industry.

What we’re looking forEducation: GCSE Maths & English and a curiosity about science-
- Experience:- Proven excellent customer service focus and ability to work collaboratively-
- Good IT skills required (including Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook)-

- Desirable:- Experience of working in a laboratory environment-
- Knowledge of SHE requirements in a laboratory environmentHow you will thrive and create an impact- Proactively delivering the operational laboratory support handling workload and service levels as required - stock management, helping with deliveries, laboratory housekeeping activities-
- Acting as Point of Contact for customers, actively engaging with them on a regular basis to understand their business requirements and providing with updates-
- Assisting with Kanban management, reference standard management or archiving as required-
- Maintaining records for equipment servicing and routine preparation to GMP regulations#LI-Onsite
