You will:

- Be the first point of contact for customers coming to the office to enquire or purchase a certified copy of a birth, death or marriage certificate
- Facilitate searches in the Lancashire Registration records, accurately identifying information requested and preparing certified copy certificates for signing
- Undertake all aspects of the certificate services production workflow, ensuring the registers are correctly filed in the repository and the security of all certificate stock
- Communicate with the Customer Access Centre, service users, partners and registration staff with regard to general technical matters and service delivery
- Advise customers on statutory requirements and essential documentation needed for registration matters
- Place orders for birth/death/marriage certificates for customers on the bespoke computer system and take payments from customers. Assist in accounting and banking all fees
- Complete the legal administrative process for corrections, re-registrations and adoptions as advised by the General Register office
- Have the ability to use own initiative
- Have excellent communication and digital skills
- Be able to work with a range of partners
- Be able to deliver a customer focused service

This is a permanent post based at Preston Certificates Services Office, Lancashire Archives, Bow Lane, Preston for 22.2 hours per week, working Monday, Thursday and Friday.
