**ABOUT THE ROLE**
The Sales Manager is responsible for order development by customer engagement & business development, identifying potential growth areas and market opportunities. Working with the bid team to ensure tenders are prepared and submitted in a compliant format forsubmission. This will include customer liaison through the sales process, working with the tender team and providing negotiation support. Representing the customer perspective within the business to ensure alignment to the changing product needs and markets.

**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Proactively develops and creates customer relationships in his/her area of responsibility
- Is accountable for developing Qualter Hall position in his/her customer base or market area
- Creates and communicates leads and sales opportunities
- Documents the customer and contact information, maintains customer data
- Proactively generates opportunities from outside current customer base (Business Development)
- Handles tender submissions working in conjunction with the tendering, operations and design teams.
- Is accountable for leads, opportunities, orders and contracts to meet the sales budget
- Is accountable for business development linked to the business solutions available and for identifying future potential product areas.
- Ensures that the contents of the contract/tender are in line with current business policies
- Maintains full information of opportunities, tasks and visits on a daily basis
- Responsible for gathering relevant information about market and competitors from the field
- Is able to produce weekly/monthly reports detailing sales activities as required
**ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE**
- At least 5 years’ experience of a similar role
- Knowledge of Solution Selling and Value selling.
- Customer relationship skills linked to Business Development
- Negotiation skills
- Effective communication - representing the customer perspective in the business
- Marketing experience - Use of online tools such as LinkedIn.
**DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE**
- Commercial contract terms and conditions
- Management experience in a similar role
- Large tender leadership & management.
