We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic ward clerk to join our team
We are a busy ward unit providing inpatient and outpatient services. We specialise in gynaecology and women's health.
The inpatient ward comprises of 9 inpatient beds taking patients for emergency care and elective surgical procedures.We also run a 24/7- 3 recliner chair gynaecology assessment unit seeing patients directly referred from A&E, UTC, EMAS, GP and other health professional sources.
The area also runs specialist gynaecology outpatient clinics such as colposcopy, hysteroscopy and termination of pregnancy clinics
- these run Monday to Friday 9am-6pm.
We are looking for a Ward Clerk to work 26.5 hours a week on set days Monday, Tuesday and Fridays 8 am
- 4pm and Thursdays 4pm-8pm. Bank holidays and weekends are not part of this role.
We are looking for someone who is flexible in their approach and willing to undertake all tasks involved in this busy but rewarding role.
**The Ward Clerk duties will include**: representing the ward as the first face whom patients and visitors are greeted by on arrival. Communicating will all patients and visitors to the ward, answering the telephone and dealing with queries or forwarding calls to the nursing team, updating the Care flow (computer system) with all admissions / discharges. Using the outpatient kiosk system to confirm patient attendance for any outpatient clinics running. As well as the taking of referrals and booking appointments for our ward run termination of pregnancy service.Ensuring all medical notes are obtained and notes are filed correctly. oversee and ordering and ensuring stationary stock is well maintained.
The above list is not exhaustive as you will also be expected to support with the collection of data that is completed on a monthly basis. This data is specific to the ward.
We are therefore looking for a motivated individual with excellent communication skills to be a friendly welcome for our patients and their loved ones. You must possess excellent customer service skills.
