This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Placement, Provision and Support Team.
**We pay an attractive salary of £17,852 - £19,439 and offer access to training and development opportunities.**

This is an exciting opportunity and with this in mind, we are looking to recruit a Residential Child Care Worker - Waking Night. As a Waking Nights Officer, you will play an essential part in providing care and effective support to young people to enable them to achieve positive outcomes in line with their personal plan.
You will be awake on duty at all times throughout the night to monitor, support and respond to young people’s individual needs and the requirements/instruction of the on-call managers. We will need you to take responsibility for providing a safe and supportive environment and work closely with the team to implement and manage sensitively the routine night time care arrangements for young people in our care.
Previous experience of working in a children’s residential home is advantageous. We offer an excellent induction and training package, including supporting employees to attain sector specific qualifications that will support your professional development. We also provide training and support to enable you to work in a therapeutic, relational manner. On-going supervision is offered where training, development and personals need are addressed.
Intervention with the young people will be provided through a therapeutic approach and will primarily focus on working with young people in a relational manner as well as providing an emotionally secure, consistent, warm, supportive and caring environment for the young people and to encourage their social, physical, emotional, intellectual and moral development so that they may realise their own potential.
**For the role, we ask that you**:
- Are dedicated to complete, if not already registered, the All Wales Induction Framework within a set time frame to enable registration with Social Care Wales.
- Hold a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent (applicants who do not hold the required qualification will be expected to complete this, along with the new core award as part of the role and in line with legislative requirements; on-going support will be provided for individuals to complete the award.)
- Have a basic knowledge of legislation relevant to the role and demonstrate compliance with the Authority's policies and procedures at all times.
- Hold a full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence to drive a Council vehicle to transport children, young people on a regular basis.
