An opportunity has arisen to join our proactive forward thinking practices based in the North and South parts of Sandwell. We are looking to recruit receptionists on full/part time contracts to join our friendly and supportive team to cover the day to day service.

The post-holder will work as part of a team within the practice. They will receive and assist patients and direct them to the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. They will project a positive and friendly image to visitors, both in person and on the telephone.

The post-holder should have previous experience of working with the general public and be able to work without constant supervision.

In addition to general reception/telephone duties the post-holder will undertake administrative duties as required.

You will provide a high quality care navigation service to patients, doctors and colleagues to support the smooth clinical operations of the organisation.

NHS or GP Practice experience is desirable. Previous use of SystmOne is particularly desirable.

This is an exciting opportunity and time to join the team in a forward thinking, developing, busy GP surgeries. We are looking for individuals who want to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.

We have 7 GP surgeries within our primary care network and whilst we would like you to have a main surgery to work from, you will be expected to work cross sites as/when it is necessary to support the smooth operations of the outlets.

We are open 365 days from 8am - 8pm Mon-Sat.

We are seeking individuals who have flexibility to cover varied shifts and have flexibility in self to be able to multitask and work under pressure with rapidly changing safety regulations needing to be operationalised.

**Main responsibilities include**:

- Ensure the safe and efficient running of care navigation services
- Monitor front of house in terms of maintaining standards and ensuring polices are disseminated and followed
- Ensure that appointments are booked correctly
- Provide written and oral reports on issues which relate to patient care and safety, staff health and safety and any deficiencies in service provision
- Continually review existing work practices to improve efficiency, productivity and accuracy
- Maintain patient confidentiality and understand GDPR
- Receive patients in reception and ensure service excellence standards are applied to exceed patient expectations
- Excellent telephone manner
