They are seeking a Software Engineer to join them from their Laser Quantum business unit in Stockport. They offer a great opportunity to work within a dynamic and growing business - in a high-tech innovative environment.

Job Purpose:
Using C# and object-oriented design principles, you will be responsible for the full-lifecycle (design, development, and maintenance) of business-critical tools that will be used in all areas of the business, including manufacturing, quality, engineering,and R&D.

The role involves the use of many, wide-ranging technologies and skills including UI design (WPF and windows forms), hardware communication (RS232 and Ethernet), database interaction (SQL) and process automation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Desktop and device software development and design using C#.
- Undertaking work in accordance with software development processes, procedures, and specifications.
- Creating software and user and technical documentation.
- Software testing (unit testing and integration testing).
- Implementation of the instructions of the quality / environmental management representative and the occupational safety specialist.

Skills and Experience:
Essential:

- Someone who is a curious learner and keen to develop their skills and experience.
- Good organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to work proactively and using your own initiative.
- A good team player who can collaborate across a range of teams.
- Experience using Microsoft Office suite.
- Someone who is excited by our business and is proud to work for a unique organization who make lasers

Desirable:

- Exposure of working in a similar software development role.
- Experience of C# and.Net technologies (.Net 5 and.Net Core).
- Experience of web technologies (ASP.NET).
- Experience of C and writing code for embedded platforms.
- Experience of using Python for data analysis.
- Experience of VBA/VB6 and Qt GUI development.
