Youth Leader

Job Overview:
This job is based in Kingsteignton Youth Centre, a purpose built community centre in Kingsteignton in South Devon. The Youth Centre management committee employs a youth leader to run a youth club for young people in the area.
As KYC youth leader you will be an experienced professional youth worker responsible for planning, resourcing and delivering enjoyable youth club sessions for young people aged 8 to 17 years on Thursday and Friday evenings.

As team leader you will provide leadership and support to our assistant youth support worker and our weekly sessional worker (younger group only). You will be responsible for recruiting, training and supporting adult and young youth club volunteers.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work professionally and effectively with young people and their parents, KYC staff and volunteers, other organisations and statutory agencies when necessary are essential.

You will be engaging actively with the wider community in order to promote the youth club. You will be confident visiting local schools and talking with young people about their needs and ideas on how the youth club might provide new experiences and opportunities, and in participating in an occasional community event to promote the youth club.

As a member of the Youth Centre management committee you will liaise closely with trustees to ensure the safe delivery of the service, attending bi-monthly management meetings and reporting on youth club activities.

You will be responsible for risk management and safeguarding in KYC youth club including data control of youth club records. You will be responsible for handling cash and ensuring accurate recording of youth club income and expenditure.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: £13.00-£16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 per week
