We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced qualified Cardiac Healthcare Science practitioner/scientist to join our small,busy and friendly Cardiac Device Team (Pacemaker Team) at Mid Cheshire Hospital.

This is a full-time position which would require the post holder to work within a few areas in the Cardio-Respiratory department, including the Cardiac Device Clinic, ambulatory ECG/tape analysis and Exercise Tolerance Testing (ETT) services.

Depending on the future needs of the service and post holder interest there may be an opportunity in the near future to perform Pacemaker and ICD/CRT Implants at our Partner Tertiary Hospital.

The post holder will be required to assist the Cardiac Device Team with performing all aspects of Cardiac Implantable Electronic Device (CIED) follow up. This would include performing bradycardia pacemaker follow-up, Cardiac Resynchronisation Therapy Pacemaker (CRT-P) follow-up, interrogation of Implantable Loop Recorders (ILR) and the interrogation and/deactivation of Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillators (ICD). Assisting in performing Pacemaker Remote Monitoring, using the Medtronic CareLink system.

In addition to assisting the Cardiac Device Service, the post holder would also be required to perform Exercise Tolerance Testing (ETTs) on both outpatients and inpatients. The post holder would be expected to have experience in leading Clinical Physiologist supervised ETT lists and experience of assisting in Doctor-led ETTs.

The post holder would also be required to perform the analysis and reporting of ambulatory ECG, including 24, 48 and 72-hour tapes.

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) provides good quality, safe and effective healthcare to the people of Cheshire and beyond. The Trust, which manages Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford, was established as an NHS Trust in April 1991 and became a Foundation Trust in April 2008.

During the Coronavirus pandemic, the Trust was recognised nationally for its ‘Be Safe Be EquiPPEd’ campaign, which aimed to make the Trust as safe as possible for staff and patients, through supporting the correct use of PPE. The results in the 2020 national NHS Staff Survey showed improvements in all elements of the safety culture theme, with 92% of respondents feeling their role made a difference to our patients. **Main Responsibilities**:

- To competently perform bradycardia, ILR and CRT-P pacemaker follow up
- To competently perform ICD interrogations, deactivations and reactivations
- To competently perform analysis of pacemaker remote monitoring using the Medtronic CareLink system or willing to train.
- To competently and independently analyse and report ambulatory ECG
- To competently lead, analyse and report Exercise Tolerance Tests

**Person Specification**: The post holder should hold a BSc in Healthcare Science/Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent. Relevant professional qualifications are required, including Society for Cardiological Science and Technology (SCST) part 1 and part 2 and British Heart Rhythm Society (BHRS) accreditation or an interest in working towards BHRS would be highly desirable. You should also be registered with the Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (RCCP) or equivalent.
