We are looking to recruit a Sales Bid Writer to work within our busy sales team. The main purpose of this role is to support the sales team and assist in business development. You will use your expert writing skills to craft compelling responses that showcase our strengths and set us apart. Your writing will consistently meet the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and competitiveness.

Connect Catering Ltd is an independent contract caterer providing fresh food every day for our business & industry and independent education clients. Connect is a vibrant and growing business; we are family owned and based in Wallingford. We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated team player to join our fun, fast paced sales team, supporting all aspects of the day to day running of the sales office.

You should be a great communicator with excellent written English, with an eye for detail and used to working to deadlines along with being innovative and creative. Experience working in hospitality or catering sales is ideal, however, other backgrounds will be considered provided you are passionate about great food.

You will report to the Head of Sales and work closely with others within the company. Working Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.30pm, 40 hours per week and you will be based in our Head Office.

**Key Responsibilities**
- To write proposals that portray the established professional image of Connect.
- To work with the sales team to develop our proposals maximising their effectiveness.
- To proofread all documents for accuracy of grammar, spelling and information given.
- To make effective telephone calls gaining appointments to bolster the sales pipeline.
- To make sufficient calls each week to generate the targeted meetings.
- To successfully develop our image with prospective clients.
- To research all competitors’ activities to ensure our sales and marketing effort is always at the forefront.
- To update records ensuring we have the fullest and most accurate information possible.
- To ensure that new opportunities are identified and added to our data files.
- Seek and share persuasive sales writing best practice with team and proactively supporting the sales team.

**Professional & Personal Competencies/Qualifications**
- Demonstrable Bid Writer experience from a sales perspective.
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Proofreading and editing knowledge, with quality and accuracy is essential.
- Writing with a sales influence & persuasive flair
- Ability to turn written, numerical, and existing content into compelling written representations.
- Establish an excellent knowledge of the company’s experience, activities and USPs.
- Strong IT skills are essential, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook, and a broad knowledge of social media platforms.

Salary £30-£40 dependent on experience.
