**About The Role**:
Here at the Nottingham Building Society we have an opportunity for you to join the team as a Payment Support Agent.

We have recently signed up to the Mortgage Charter and therefore providing great service to our customers at times where they may need support is at the forefront of this role. You will be working with customers to identify where additional support may be beneficial and supporting them with solutions to reduce the possibility of arrears/missed payments in the future.

We are looking for a positive and engaging team member to support our customers by delivering an exceptional customer experience and service. This role suits someone with excellent customer service skills, high levels of empathy and the ability to work well in a small direct team.

**Here’s a taste of what you will be doing -**

- Proactively manage any pre-arrears accounts where there is a potential shortfall
- Negotiate payment solutions for those members who are experiencing payment difficulties
- Create payment plans based on customers’ financial circumstances and gain agreement
- Proactively maintain regular contact with members who are on a payment plan and work with them to resolve ongoing payment problems
- Retain customer loyalty while initiating processes for collection of payments
- Take appropriate action for the resolution of arrears cases to ensure that the mortgage losses are kept to a minimum
- Carefully monitor and make recommendations on cases where future legal proceedings may be required
- Maintain and accurately update member records
- Ensure all communication, whether verbal or written is of a high standard and meets quality assurance KPI’s
- Accept and process card payments for the payment of mortgage monies
- Identify any aspect of additional vulnerability and support the member by signposting to the relevant agency

- You will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to show a high degree of sympathy and understanding whilst maintaining a firm and but fair approach
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Sound decision making balancing the needs of the customer and the business
- Ability to work autonomously within the appropriate framework, to solve problems and provide recommendations where necessary
- Strong team player
