**East Lancs Hospice**

East Lancashire Hospice is a registered charity, founded in 1984. We support and care for patients with a life limiting illness, their families and others close to them. We provide this in a number of ways; at the hospice and in people’s own homes across our community of Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley.

With approximately 120 employees and over 250 volunteers, our people are our biggest asset whom we value tremendously. Our services to the local community would not be possible without our motivated and caring workforce who always strive to deliver excellence in all that they do. The hospice is a unique and special place, kindness and compassion are qualities that run throughout the hospice and our people truly believe in what we do.

**Complementary Therapist**

After re-introducing our very popular complementary therapy provision for those accessing hospice services we are seeing increased demand for this very popular service. The service forms part of our Support and Wellbeing provision and provides individualised treatments and therapeutic interventions to enhance the wellbeing of patients and families from our communities. The service will provide an out-patient clinic and also support patients on our Inpatient unit working with the medical and nursing teams to help minimise pharmacological interventions for symptom relief.

Qualifications are essential; however to support a person with life limiting illness or those at the end of life requires much more. Are you resilient enough to be able to cope with the extremes of human emotion and vulnerability? Are you sensitive and empathetic in your approach whilst maintaining an appropriate sense of humour and an energetic positive approach. Will you take pride in the service you deliver, always looking for ways to improve and enhance this? If so this may be the role for you.

**Equality and Diversity**

There is also onsite parking and an onsite Café with reduced staff prices.

Aside from the terms and conditions detailed above, you will joining a very special and unique organisation, where people are at the heart of everything we do.
