**Head of Grounds Maintenance**
Rapier Employment are currently seeking a straight permanent Head of Grounds Maintenance for our new client in Garford. You will ensure that the grounds of the Crematorium are maintained to a high standard, and to provide assistance to other Crematorium staff.
Pay: £26,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hrs (full time)
You will need to undertake General Ground Maintenance including:

- Rose bed maintenance - pruning, dead heading, edging etc.
- Maintenance of shrubs, planting, grass seeding, grass cutting and laying turf.
- Maintain and create memorial areas, site prep and construction.
- Maintain floral displays, allocate specific areas for floral tributes, and dispose of flowers and floral tributes as necessary.
- Will need to work in all weather conditions.
Other Duties:

- To look after allocated machinery, cleaning, general maintenance and arranging for quotes and servicing.
- Assist the Chapel attendant with cleaning/prep of the service chapel, cloister, flower room and other areas.
- Attend services, direct funeral directors, mourners, and members of the public. Organise parking at busy services.
- Scatter/bury cremated remains in the Garden of Remembrance when a family wish to be present and maintain a record of their location. To ensure the collection, identification, storage, and final disposal of cremated is maintained correctly and documented.
- Input into Obitas system music as decided, for playing during the funeral service.
- Process enquiries from the general public and funeral directors and to assist admin when needed.
- A high degree of care and understanding is a major requirement of the post.
- Job holders must be of a height and strength permitting them to shoulder a coffin as part of a 4-person team during services.
You will need to have received the appropriate training, to operate the cremators and ancillary equipment within the guidelines of the ICCM Guiding Principles and the guidelines of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and subsequent amendments.
