As our Test Automation Lead based in Edinburgh, within our ‘Automating the Firm’ Team, you will report to the Client Servicing, Analytics & Automation Manager. The Lead will be responsible for building a community of practice for Testing, Test Automation and setting up Test Automation Tooling as part of our increasing use of Digital Processing Tooling.

The Test Automation Lead will partner with different teams and assist and manage the setup of structured test sets and libraries, help define how the firm will track and report MI showing test progression, and consult where required on the automated unit testing element of DevSecOps as part of our revised sSDLC. In effect you will take responsibility for Quality Assurance and lead improvement initiatives by creating a test automation framework and standards that comply with the global IT Control Framework, help design automation scrips, and educate others on test automation, effectively creating a community around test automation that doesn’t exist today.

**Responsibilities**:

- Create a test automation strategy and framework, implement in our teams and maintain
- Maintain and improve the test strategy based on experience and industry best practices
- Further implement our test automation tooling and perform tool selection and implementation when required
- Assist in creating test sets and automate test execution
- Educate and train co-workers in test automation and automating test cases.
- Define testing metrics, insure these are measurable and create audit trails on testing. Goals should be to have an integral testing dashboard available to all relevant stakeholders.
- Embed test automation in our testing processes, procedures and Software Development Lifecycle.
- Where applicable improve existing test strategies and procedures and promote quality assurance in general.
- Research and stay up to date with testing methodologies, practices and tooling. Make proposals for improving and implementing the test practices in our company
- Operate within a Scrum team as part of the wider Scaled Agile change environment, participating in team and broader ceremonies and adoption of an Agile mindset and practices.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

- Experience in quality assurance/testing procedures, testing methodologies that includes implementing automation solutions
- Experience implementing one or more automation frameworks (Tosca, Selenium, Ranorex or comparable)
- Experience with a variety of testing techniques and methodologies
- Experienced in performing test automation assessments, identifying targets for automation, and recommending automation best practices
- Experienced with implementing or defining automated UIs, APIs, web services and back-end processes
- Hands-on experience in actual automation and maintenance of test cases, smoke tests, unit tests, assisting with UAT and regression testing.
- Experienced in making test dashboards and reports for stakeholders
- Experience of working in an Agile change environment.
- Leadership skills, demonstrated in the form of coordinator or community of practice lead roles

It would also be beneficial if you have:

- A degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Strong team player, being able to work in international and virtual teams
- Experience in Investment Management industry
