**About the role**

The South Tyneside MSK Physiotherapy Service are looking for a well-organised and established Senior MSK Physiotherapist to deliver quality clinical care for patients with musculoskeletal conditions. Whilst undertaking comprehensive assessment and diagnosisof patients with a wide variety of physical and emotional needs, you must formulate, deliver, review and progress individual treatment programmes and ensure effective treatment, specialist advice and timely discharge are achieved.

We are committed to developing and promoting a positive and dynamic image and culture and it is expected that you will contribute to the fostering of productive relationships with key stakeholders such as local GPs and community providers, whilst providesupport and training to junior staff and physiotherapy students.

You will have the opportunity to work within a variety of rehabilitation environments including group work in our Fit for Life Classes or within the local community in the fantastic Council gyms helping to empower people towards the goal of long-term lifestylechange as part of the primary care team.

We have a wide variety of development opportunities including providing education in the community, being party of the Academy training for colleagues or with local medical student placements or university teaching. This is alongside more traditional opportunitiessuch as supporting the local universities with student placements.

We aspire to be pioneering in our approach and look for chances to influence the MSK literacy and pathways across the whole system.Flexible working is always considered within 5 day working around extended hours with full or part time working considered.

**Our Service in South Tyneside
**Connect Health have been asked to provide and manage the delivery of the MSK Service on behalf of the forward-looking South Tyneside CCG. We are fully integrated in the primary care setting working collaboratively with our medical colleagues, linkworkers and the voluntary sector as well as providing the local FCP service. We are looking for skilled, motivated, and passionate clinical staff to join the existing team in delivering a fantastic, innovative local service to the people of South Tyneside.

Our philosophy of care is based on patient empowerment; ensuring all people have timely access to the right information that allows them to self-manage or make informed and shared decisions about their future care needs. We support staff to understand theimportance of a BPS, evidence-informed approach which has shared decision making at its heart as well as a focus on activity/exercise. MECC, social prescribing and rehab are core to our service ethos; aiming for long term lifestyle changes and we invest intraining of our staff to help deliver this.

We have recently been awarded a new contract for this service and developing our pain offering in primary care is a key service development we are required to fulfil. Training around psychologically informed care, group consultations and behaviour changeis available for the team.

**Who we're looking for?**

You'll be positive, constructive and approachable, along with being registered with the HCPC, and a fully qualified Physiotherapist. We're looking for you to manage a varied case load of MSK patients, as well as the ability to work under pressure and beingcommitted to CPD.

You should have the desire to facilitate improvement in yourself and the service. You will have excellent and confident communication skills with both patients and colleagues a like. You may have experience of working within the NHS, Public or Private Sector,bringing transferrable skills to Connect.

You'll be positive, constructive and approachable and carry out tasks with fairness and integrity at all times; along with being well organised, conscientious and capable of working collaboratively with the Physiotherapy Team.

The majority of clinical diaries and patient notes are administered electronically and as such you'll have good IT skills and be willing to embrace innovation and technological advances that improve service delivery.
