The Senior People Advisor will collaborate with UK functional managers to play a key role in supporting their business areas in their day-to-day activities, working alongside the People Team Leads and People Partners to help implement transformational change and OD initiatives.

Drawing on significant experience in all areas of the people lifecycle to effectively provide support and guidance to our UK functional managers to drive employee engagement and develop high performance teams.

Providing complex advice and support to UK functional managers, whilst building and maintaining positive working relationships with key stakeholders including employees, employee representatives, our Employee Services team and others both internally and externally, developing trust and credibility, whilst maintaining professionalism and integrity.

Key accountabilities

Advising on complex employee relations matters such as sensitive ER cases, appeals, Employment Tribunals, settlements, retention proposals and counter offers.
Coaching and advising UK functional managers to manage their teams effectively, consistently and with confidence by influencing and driving cultural change.
Adopting a continuous improvement approach by reviewing our People processes and procedures alongside any legislative changes coupled with making suggestions on possible improvements and the delivery of upskilling initiatives.
Supporting the delivery of People Projects by leading and implementing initiatives across the UK.
Provide assessment and assurance to bid teams in relation to the People impacts of bidding activity.
Support successful and timely delivery of salary reviews, pay & progression boards and performance review cycle, supporting workshops, providing advice and guidance and, where appropriate, reviewing consistency of approach to ensure we are compliant with ER and good practice.
Collaborative with other members of the People function to share best practice and drive consistency across the business.

Excellent relationship building skills garnered in a fast paced people environment.
A great communicator with ability to influence and partner with UK functional managers at all levels of the business.
Professional acumen to succeed in a demanding and ever changing environment.
Resilient, shows conviction in decision making, maintaining high levels of energy and performance even when under pressure.
Uses coaching and negotiation to resolve conflict, influence behaviours and opinions, to gain agreement.

Experience and qualifications

Educated to CIPD Level 7 or equivalent and holds a current CIPD qualification, desirable MCIPD.
Ability to travel, on occasion, across the UK and have a flexible approach to working hours.
Excellent UK employment law knowledge and experience of complex case management.
Experience of bid activity
