**The Department**

The Property and Investment department sits within the Council's Regeneration Directorate and is responsible for the management of the authority's multi-million pound property portfolio, delivery of the councils major regeneration projects, and property related capital projects including the creation commercial and housing assets (both private and social). The department also supports the neighbouring authority (Gosport Borough Council) to deliver their property portfolio management, delivery of capital projects and economic regeneration schemes.

**Your New Role**

Reporting directly to the Assistant Director for Property & Investment you will be responsible for leading the delivery of Asset Management and Estate Management functions across GBC's asset portfolio. Your passion, expertise, enthusiasm and experience in property matters will enable you to deliver exceptional levels of service, technical support and professional guidance to the wider team. As a senior leader within the department you will be responsible for ensuring that the team (focused on GBC) provide the level of service required, engage with GBC effectively as a member of their senior management team, including elected member engagement.

**What you need to succeed**

You will be an experienced Chartered Surveyor (MRICS or FRICS General Practice) who is highly motivated and adept at solving complex problems, with a strong commercial focus on maximising return.

You will have excellent technical knowledge along with experience of leading and managing a property team. You will have the ability to work with complex property information to identify and bring to fruition asset management initiatives, requiring innovation, imagination and vision.

You will be able to manage differing priorities, overcome obstacles and resolve conflicts while maintaining a clear focus on results. You will also have demonstratable skills and understanding of working in a political environment.
