We are currently looking for an experienced Commercial Property Solicitor to join our busy Corporate & Commercial team. Working in a small but expanding team, and reporting to the Head of Department, you will be responsible for providing advice and assistance to a range of clients. This role is office based in the Portsmouth area, with the option for a Hybrid working arrangement.


Role Responsibilities

As a Commercial Property Solicitor you will be responsible for effectively and efficiently managing your own diverse commercial property caseload. You will provide sound, professional advice to clients in respect to:


  • Buying and selling commercial property
  • Dealing with lease assignments
  • Advising in relation to environmental issues
  • Buying and selling development land
  • Drafting and negotiating overage agreements
  • Drafting and negotiating development option agreements
  • Drafting and negating pre-emption agreements


Job Requirements

Our ideal candidate will be someone with proven experience who takes a professional, client-first approach to each case they run. They will have sound knowledge and expertise in the field, exceptional attention to detail and the ability to communicate in a friendly, professional and confidential manner. The role will suit those with a positive and flexible approach and an ability to remain calm under pressure in order to project the image and ethos of the firm at all times.


Whilst character is important to us we do require a certain level of experience and qualification to succeed in this role. These are:


  • hold qualified solicitor status in England and Wales or be a qualified Legal Executive.
  • 4 years post qualification experience dealing with commercial property matters (acting for developers, investors, companies and charities).
