**Location**:Home based in the London area of England (Hertfordshire, Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Hampshire, Suffolk, Bedfordshire) with regular travel required to Prisons in your area.

**Responsible for**:One-to-one support of Veterans involved in the Justice System and the co-ordination and delivery of Veteran Group Forums within Prisons, delivering Op NOVA.

**Main Role and Responsibilities**

As a Regional Co-ordinator based in the London area of England, will include working within multiple identified prisons within that region. You will work with Armed Forces veterans in prison and collaborate with other support agencies and statutory services. You will introduce veterans in prison to Care after Combat and be able to sign up veterans to the NHS England Op NOVA support package. You will work alongside other Care after Combat staff, other support agencies, volunteers, and relevant prison staff in the identified prisons to facilitate regular forums where possible. You will deliver one-to-one support sessions with veterans in prison to identify and understand their individual needs and provide support accordingly. You will work alongside other parties such as Resettlement Teams, Probation Services and other support services and organisations, to ensure the veterans are best prepared for reintegration into the community, post release from prison.

You will be supported in your role by the Operations Lead (your Line Manager) and the wider Care after Combat Team.

**Duties can include but will not be limited to**:

- Implementation of Care after Combat’s support services via NHSE Op NOVA;
- Work collaboratively with third parties as required;
- Be a key holder for the identified prisons;
- Work with other Care after Combat staff and prison staff to arrange and facilitate group forums for veterans within the prison environment;

- Work with other Care after Combat staff in the delivery of awareness training in veteran specific issues to healthcare and prison staff;
- Work in partnership with Prison Liaison Officers/Relevant prison staff;
- Networking with relevant organisations and other charities;
- Represent Care after Combat and Op NOVA as required and always work in line with the identified aims, values and plans of the charity;
- Updating Case Management systems as part of the maintenance of cases relating to the support of service users;
- Provide clear reports in line with Care after Combat and Op NOVA reporting policies and governance strategies;
- Other duties that are relevant to the care and support of veterans through the justice system may be assigned by the Operations Lead.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Qualifications_
Employment rights to live and work in the UK
Have a full and clean driving license
- Experience/ Knowledge_
A Veteran or relevant working experience with the Armed Forces or within the Prison Service
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple diverse teams and grades
Development of local networking across region
- Skills_

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Experience of mentoring or delivering support services
Provide high quality written reports and any other written documentation as and when required
Experience of or relevant skills to evidence confidence in managing group work
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to network and negotiate with relevant outside agencies
Able to accept responsibility and to respond confidently and calmly to complex and evolving problems
Able to work on own initiative, self-motivate and progress own work to deadlines once guidelines have been set
To be able to establish links with other charities, key individuals and services to share, develop and maintain best practice in the provision of services for veterans.

Live in the London area of England, or neighbouring counties

Previous experience of working in prisons

**Working Conditions**
Care after Combat takes the safety of its staff and volunteers seriously.
A part of this job role involves working inside prison environments. Prison security procedures can include individuals being searched and does include working in a restricted locked environment. The prison environment can present as challenging. All visitors to prisons are required to follow the individual prison policies and procedures.
