The Vertex Group of companies are dynamic and quickly growing, with a portfolio which includes prime commercial real estate, premium restaurants and bars, and sought-after Airbnb properties. Reporting to the Commercial Manager this role will be responsible for some core financial tasks as well as supporting the wider team with their workload and projects.

**Responsibilities**:

- Code and input all supplier invoices and credit notes onto Xero.
- Match invoices with purchase orders and delivery notes, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
- Prepare and process monthly payment runs to suppliers, including sub-contractors.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any outstanding issues or queries.
- Reconcile bank statements.
- Maintain accurate and up to date supplier records and contact information.
- Build strong working relationships with suppliers.
- Assist with month-end close processes, including accruals and prepayments.
- Assist the finance team with ad-hoc tasks and financial projects as required.

**About You**:

- Experience as an Accounts Assistant or in a similar role is essential.
- Experience with Xero accounting software. Training can be given if other platforms are currently used.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Solid understanding of purchase ledger processes and accounting principles.
- Data entry skills with an exceptional attention to detail and for finishing tasks fully.
- Super organised, able to plan and prioritise, but also ready to dive in when its ‘all hands on deck’ and understand the importance of collective efforts.
- Good communications skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and colleagues.
- Plenty of common sense, to analyse and identify errors or inconsistencies in the data.
