Our client, Pak Poultry Products (Scotland) Ltd is one of the leading halal-chicken wholesalers, urgently looking for three experienced butchers to join their prestigious wholesale unit in Glasgow. The halal chicken demand has been growing for a few years as well as they are experiencing butcher shortages. Therefore, they are urgently looking for three butchers to join their wholesale halal-chicken unit in Glasgow, Scotland.

Pak Poultry Products (Scotland) is located in the north of Glasgow and one of the leading halal-meat wholesaler and preferred choice for many halal-meat retailers in the area. They are serving a variety of halal chicken products to their customers.

They are eager to find three qualified and experienced butchers who will be able to prepare and package halal-chicken to their customers and their experience will allow Pak Poultry Products (Scotland) to remain the best among other halal chicken wholesalers in the area.

**Butcher Duties & Responsibilities**:
You should know how to weigh and portion cuts of different kinds of meat and be able to use equipment such as meat grinders, saws and other tools to break down meat into portions. The further duties and responsibilities of a butcher include:

- Preparing, trimming, weighing and pricing up meat;
- Cutting and boning a carcass;
- Packaging meat and storing it correctly;
- Discussing different cuts with customers, including how to safely store them;
- Keeping their working environment safe and storing meat in accordance with health and safety legislation;
- Maintaining business records and budgets

**Butcher skills and qualifications**

If you are passionate and interested in meat preparation, have some culinary knowledge, have good hand-eye coordination as well as able to use your tools safely then this is the an ideal job you have been waiting for:

- Knowledge of specialist preparations of meat such as halal
- An ability to carry meat and load it into storage
- Good communication with the rest of their team, as well as customers, delivery drivers and salespeople
- Mathematical skills to calculate prices or check if invoices are correct
- An understanding of how to maintain high hygiene standards, including correctly washing and storing meat cutting tools
- Good sales skills and an ability to discuss different cuts enthusiastically with customers

The role would benefit an experienced butcher who has access to own transport, or lives local to the area. Although public transport is also available by bus or train.

Pay: £25,600 per year

Benefits: Staff Benefits as per Pak Poultry Products terms and conditions

Schedule: Monday to Friday plus weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate: This store is located in Edinburgh

Experience: 2+ year experience working as a butcher. Some Wholesale unit experience is an advantage.
