Lockton is looking for a Human Resources (HR) Advisor to join our established HR team based in the City of London offices.

Working within the People team, you will be working closely with a team of HR Advisors, Business Partners, the COO for People and the Head of HR to deliver world class HR advisory support for our business teams. You will use your expertise to deliver insight, advice, guidance and practical support to ensure business areas successfully deliver their people strategies for commercial success.

Role Responsibilities:

- Works with a defined business unit/s to proactively cultivate strong working relationships with associates and Partners at all levels in the organisation.
- Advises on employee relations matters within the business including disciplinaries and grievances with support from the Head of Employee Relations and HRBP, as required.
- Leads and participates in core People initiatives and process efficiencies.
- Supports the business agenda, commercially, culturally and strategically in conjunction with the HRBP.
- Supports the continuous improvement of the People function and protect the reputation through the quality of support and service delivered.
- Actively participates in business/people driven projects, in conjunction with the HRBP and respective Centres of Excellence including but not limited to DE&I, Operations, Development, Talent Management and Reward.
- Leads visa and immigration matters in conjunction with the appointed immigration specialist, including overseas transfers/secondments, liaising with the Tax and Global Mobility specialists, as required.
- Drafts and issue complex employment letters as well as assistance with more complex associate queries.
- Monitors completion records of key associate training modules and performance plans.
- Supports key activity within the People calendar including but not limited to; reward and performance cycles, talent mapping and succession planning and developing our early careers programmes.
- Proactively use data and analytics to support business activities
- Maintain, update and innovate communication from the people function.

The successful applicant will be able to link HR activity to core business objectives, working across organisation boundaries, for instance to co-manage initiatives with the regional HR team and with business areas in Lockton.
- Previous experience within HR, including exposure to leading ER case management
- Previous experience of working directly with business areas on people matters and complex issues
- CIPD level 3 or above preferable, but not essential
- Knowledge of financial / professional services preferred but not essential
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
- A proven ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Be able to demonstrate an ability to build productive working relationships
- Good level of employment law knowledge and understanding of key principles
- Skill in handling conflict and uncertain situations
- Skill in handling multiple tasks and prioritising at pace
- Skill in communicating orally and in writing, particularly with business leaders and the HR community
- Skill in adopting an innovative approach to HR delivery
