**Hours: Zero Hours - Casual Worker Contract with no fixed hours to provide cover for sickness and annual leave. Hours are worked over a 7 day period between 9am and 8pm.**

**Salary: £13.52 per hour with double pay for bank holidays worked.**

**About the role**

You will be joining a dynamic and established team helping to support our client - a woman in her 50s - in her own home and in the community.

She is friendly and very independently minded with a great sense of humour. She isn’t shy in saying what she thinks and loves to engage in banter. She has some verbal difficulties and so ideally would like someone with the patience and skills to get to know her. With her sense of humour, it would be ideal if you are the sort of person who doesn’t take themselves too seriously either.

A former psychiatric nurse, she lives on her own in a new, specially adapted and spacious bungalow in Rotherham.

Amongst other things, our client loves socialising and 80s music, and when the season and weather permit, she likes to be outside, especially for sunbathing. She also likes to head out on shopping excursions, meeting with friends and family, and eating out, where she likes a good carvery.

You would also be getting out and about quite a lot with her, including taking her swimming, for which she does require some support. These would generally be short drives to local places, but there is the opportunity to strike out further on long drives around the UK when she goes on holiday.

Someone proactive would be super for this client. This is a challenging and yet highly rewarding role, ideally suited to someone who works well within a team, under the guidance of the established team and team leader and/or Case Manager. You also need to be good at working independently, as for long periods you will be assisting our client on a 1:1 basis to get the most from her days.

**About you**

**Essential skills and abilities**
- This role is only suitable for a female as GOQ (Genuine Occupational Qualification) applies
- You should be proactive, with ability to work on your own and as part of a team
- You should have a full UK driving licence and be a confident driver - being comfortable driving both automatic and manual vehicles
- Be able to provide personal care
- Have a good sense of humour and be enthusiastic to engage our client in order for her to get the most from her days with you
- Have physical and mental stamina

**Preferred skills and abilities**
- Experience of working with a person with cognitive difficulties, although full training will be given
- The ability to be flexible with regards to shift cover is helpful, in order to meet the client’s needs, which can on occasions be at short notice
