**Hays is now recruiting for a Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurse for HMP Featherstone**

**About the role:
**You will be expected to deliver a comprehensive medical service to the male service users such as:

- To carry out mental health assessments
- To make any necessary referrals
- Multidisciplinary ward rounds
- To respond to medical emergencies
- To maintaining care plans and documenting care
- Run clinics which manage prisoners with long term conditions
- Improve and sustain inmates mental health through your expertise

**Hours of work: Mon - Fri 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm**

**Rates negotiable**

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:

- To be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of evidenced based interventions required including health promotion within a prison environment.
- To provide a nursing service to prisoners taking account of cultural and spiritual beliefs/needs.
- To be responsible for the appropriate risk assessment of service users, providing effective advice, guidance, and decision-making process.
- Responsible for coordinating the care and assessment under the care coordination approach.
- Responsible for participating in the setting of quality standards, including auditing, monitoring, and reviewing of clinical practice in line with current clinical guidance practice and policy.

**What you will need to succeed**:

- Professional registration as a Registered Nurse (NMC)
- Experience as a Band 6 or equivalent
- Prison Clearance Preferable
