**Hours of work**: Part-time (from 7 hours per week)

Our services operate between 8am & 9pm, 7 days per week, 365 days per year.

**Annual Leave**: 36 days per year (pro rata)

**Salary: £10.02 per hour**

**Main Purpose**:
To assist in the provision of a high quality, safe, secure and stimulating environment for children, young people and adults with an Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) in the Moray area.

You will have the ability to be part of a caring and motivated team, as well as work on your own initiative. It is essential you are able to work creatively, collaboratively and have the ability to communicate with children, young people and adults using a number of channels, as well as colleagues, external professionals, and family members and carers. You will require to have the ability work with children and young people and adults, in group settings, as well as on a one-to-one basis, dependent on individual needs.

The nature of the service and support we offer will mean your day-to-day activities and tasks will be varied, requiring a flexible approach, with a specific focus and responsibility to meet the needs and agreed unique and individual outcomes for everyone you support.

**Responsibilities**:
v Collaborate, co-produce and maintain individual support plans and agree desired outcomes with the individuals we support.

v Plan, arrange and support individuals to participate in recreation, play, leisure activities and outings.

v Implement programs of meaningful leisure and recreational activities for each person, enabling them to acquire independence, whilst at the same time encouraging them to integrate within their community.

v Assisting with the learning and development of individual social and communication skills.

v Support individuals to seek or maintain education or employment.

v Foster positive and supportive professional relationships with the people we support, their families, and other professionals where required.

v Provision of physical, hygiene assistance and care may be necessary, enabling and supporting personal hygiene, appearance, dignity and respect.

v To undertake kitchen activities as required & preparation of food.

v Enable and support individuals to eat and drink where required.

v Supporting individuals understand and develop replacement coping strategies and behaviours, supporting the management of aggressive, self-injurious and abusive behaviour (CALM behaviour support).

v To produce and maintain accurate records, support plans, SMART actions, achievements and produce regular progress reports.

v Become familiar with Grampian Autistic Society’s health, safety and fire regulations, ensuring they are implemented and followed in line with National Care Standards and SSSC Code of Practice.

v Report any areas of concern or risk to the Team Leader, Services Manager or where appropriate, Chief Executive Officer, in line with Child and Adult Protection Procedures.

v To attend regular team meetings and participate fully in training requirements.

v To maintain confidentiality for the Grampian Autistic Society and its staff.

v Any other relevant duties as requested by Team Leader or Services Manager.
