Aalco have 18 service centres around the country which offer a reliable and on-time delivery service anywhere in the UK. Each centre holds stock to meet the immediate needs of customers in the local area and this is backed up by bulk stocks held at a central warehouse.
**Job Description/Skills Required**:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Sales and Administration Apprentice at a leading company in Gateshead. Aalco Metals Ltd are looking for an ambitious and driven individual to support their Sales Team. Aalco Metals Ltd are a supportive employer who will provide full training and believe in rewarding its employees for their hard work through an employee bonus scheme and regular social events. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop and grow within a very progressive company for the right person who is adaptable and wants to learn new skills. The role is intended to progress into a predominately Sales role after completion of the apprenticeship.
Main duties include:
- Supporting the Sales Team in a range of ways.
- Dealing with various Customer queries, requests for Information, and anything else required to make the Customer experience a positive one.
- Liaising with a range of Stakeholders, including Customers, Administration Team, Warehouse & Operational.
- General administrative duties such as Scanning, Filing, Photocopying, and retrieving paperwork.
- Processing Sales Orders & Purchase Orders.
- Using a range of Microsoft packages, to include Office, Excel and Outlook.
- Making outgoing calls to Customers to support the Sales Team in servicing the Customer efficiently.
- Occasionally working on the Trade Counter/Reception to greet Customers and take orders / payments.
- Make telephone calls to Suppliers, for quotations or to expedite orders.
**These duties are not exhaustive and other duties may be required.**

- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to work well as a part of a team, and also as an individual using own initiative.
- Confident telephone manner
- Good organisational skills and ability to plan own work load effectively
- Able to work in a fast paced environment
**Important Other Information**:
Business close down between Christmas and new year.
Invited to attend yearly awards ceremonies in London.
The apprentice may be taken on site visits to help them to gain an understanding of the company’s processes
**Future Prospects**:
Opportunities to develop into other roles such as management/sales, and at a national level
The successful applicant would have good long-term prospects with the opportunity to develop the role as the company continues to grow.
