**Job Title**:Assistant Buyer

**Job Purpose**:To manage, develop and grow existing Supplier accounts - through developing a unique partnership-based relationship.

**Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities**:

- Work with your supplier base to plan and air Live TV shopping shows.
- Plan products and negotiate commercials that meet or exceed company targets.
- Make sure all show proposals are accurate and processed in a timely manner.
- Check and cross check show proposals for commercial competitiveness in the market and use your initiative to deliver solutions should the proposals not be competitive as a result.
- Monitor trends, market pricing and identify new markets and product opportunities.
- Use in-house reporting to identify winning ranges and successful products to influence product selections moving forwards.
- Gain the maximum margin whilst remaining competitive.
- Research and learn product information so product information documents from suppliers can be improved and edited before passing for processing.
- Ensure all data entry and product descriptions are accurate, spelt correctly, presented in the correct format and all numerical data is correct prior to passing for processing.
- Ensure all data and commercials meet or exceed commercial targets laid out by Hochanda.
- Pro-actively identify smarter processes and procedures to improve efficiency for Hochanda and your role within the buying department.
- Proactively arrange and attend supplier meetings at Hochanda Head office, to develop existing relationships and develop new product ranges and suppliers across your designated areas.
- Ensure you track monthly budgets v actuals and take proactive steps to rectify short falls.
- Work closely with our internal and supplier marketing teams ensure product and promotions are well promoted.
- Carry out quarterly formal 1 to 1’s and informal weekly meetings with all direct reports to ensure personal development and clear KPI’s are mutually set and reviewed.
- Full responsibility for pre and post meetings with TV production team for every live show.
- Ensure shows meet the brief and vision in relation to the buying teams’ requirements
- Ensure every supplier is called the working day after the show with full updates as to sales data and remaining active stock.
- Final check of shows prior to air checking images are correct, correct and sufficient stock levels are available and all Product Order Listing notes are up to date and accurate.
- Be the direct contact for accounts and liaise between accounts and suppliers dealing with issues as they arise.
- Ensure you have instructed all promo mechanics (e.g. Flexibuy/Discounts etc..) for each show in line with business policies.
- Be the direct contact for the warehouse team for any issues relating to your suppliers.
- Any other duties as requested by your Line Manager.

**Skills/Competencies required**:

- Strong account and personal management skills that can deal with varied personality styles.
- Strong analytical, process, planning and organisational skills - with an eye for market trends.
- Able to react quickly to tasks and work under pressure while maintaining high standards..
- Shoulders responsibility and takes ownership.
- Excellent numeracy and grammatical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Experienced in MS Office especially Excel, Word & Outlook.
- Strong administration skills.
- Positive attitude, self-motivated and a team player.
- Be an effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Be proactive and able to manage own time effectively.
- Have a positive attitude and a strong drive to achieve perfection.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract

**Salary**: £22,000.00 per year
