SAT is a Leeds based tutoring agency that specialises in home education and SEN provision for primary and secondary education. Over the past 5 years since we opened, we have helped students as far as Indonesia work towards their exams with excellent results Many of our clients are home educated or have SENs so we work alongside health care professionals and schools to successfully support and reintegrate students. Alongside this, SAT tutors prepare students for exams such as their GCSEs and A-Levels via 1-to-1 tuition online, or in-home. **The role**:
We are looking for a **Therapy Assistant** to support a student with multiple SENDs in their family home and wider community activities. The young person currently requires Tuition at their home, on a Monday - Friday schedule. Due to the young person's SENDs, the Assistant should be patient, professional, bright and intuitive with the student and develop relationships and trust with the student.

This Assistant should have experience with supporting students with SENs and _must_ have experience supporting and working with children with anxiety, sensory needs and demand avoidance; trained in a low arousal approach, with an awareness of executive functioning challenges.

**Areas of responsibility and key tasks**:

- Education and therapy provision as set out in the students EHCP.
- Developing independent Living Skills/ Life Skills
- Anxiety Management
- Executive Functioning Skills (planning/organization, self-monitoring)
- Travel training
- Accessing the community and shops
- Accessing physical education and training activities outside the home
- Work within our specialist team along with the case manager
- Experience with communicating directly with parents and other professional key workers involved
- Ensuring safeguarding of the young person is paramount and safeguarding policies

**What we need from you;**
- Reliable, punctual & adaptable with a good sense of humor
- Must have detailed understanding and >2 years experience of SEND & EOTAS provision
- To be creative & observant and have flexibility to adapt and modify based on the child's changing interests
- Responsible and trustworthy

self-motivated
- Have strong knowledge and understanding of techniques to successfully communicate
- Must have an interest in animals (especially Horses) due to time being spent around them.
- To think on your feet and adapt quickly to challenges and change
- A passion to make learning fun and engaging, but also accessible and progressive

**Qualifications and experience we are looking for**:

- Must be trained and experienced in supporting adolescents with a diagnosis of ASD and PDA - on the job CPD will be available
- Would be desirable to have safeguarding training at Level 3 minimum - training to this level can be provided if required
- Enjoy inspiring the student and seeing progress in their results
- Experience of working in a family home
- Be able to support and liaise with a variety of teaching and other professionals
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant Qualification
- Must hold a clean valid driver's license and car insurance.
- Must have experience working with OT and SLT professionals as part of a

multidisciplinary team, and then delivering these interventions

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 19.5 per week

**Salary**: £25.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
