**The Role**:
To pro-actively work with staff, parents/guardians and participants to provide joint monitoring and planning of safeguarding arrangements. Liaising with external agencies (schools, children's services etc) and being the point of contact for stakeholders in relation to safeguarding.

Ensure appropriate governance and compliance record keeping in-line with the capability code of practice set by our governing bodies. Support the Head of Community & Deputy Head of Community to set & achieve the charity’s compliance objectives.

**Main responsibilities**:

- Promote safeguarding across the SWFCCP through training, safer recruitment processes, quality assurance checks, and staff welfare checks.
- Lead on safeguarding and compliance committees with SWFCCP senior management team.
- Lead on the management of the single central register at SWFCCP.
- Support the development of service level agreements developed with SWFCCP partners and providers.
- Support SWFCCP Equality Diversity & Inclusion practices and procedures in-line with the SWFC EDI action plan.
- Support the Head of Community & Deputy Community Manager in ensuring all aspects of SWFCCP compliance are in place, documented and relevant to our operation.
- Quality assure the process of collecting data for new employees starting at SWFCCP including new starter documents, DBS and FA Safeguarding.
- Support senior managers in the implementation of the departmental training and development plans.
- Lead on safeguarding and compliance around the implementation of new SWFCCP projects in-line with relevant legislation.
- Support the staff with providing information about concerns and ensure that all concerns are logged safely, securely and escalated through the CPOMS System, when necessary, compliance are in place, documented and relevant to our operation.
- Deliver all safeguarding and welfare inductions and ensure Safeguarding CPD training is relevant and accessible for all teams.
- Support Welfare & Safeguarding meetings with external stakeholder when escalation has been required.
- Collaborate with management teams to understand SWFCCP staff wellbeing and manage initiatives to increase this.
- Ensure that record keeping is of the highest quality and SWFCCP is prepared for External Safeguarding and Welfare audits.
- Liaise with and be the day-to-day point of contact with Sheffield Wednesday Football Club’s own Safeguarding and HR team.
- Ensure that safeguarding policies are updated in line with all SWFC, English Football League, Premier League and national up-to-date charity legislation.
- Update SWFCCP policies in-line with current and relevant legislation and statutory guidance.
- Develop service level agreements for SWFCCP partnerships.

**Skills & Experience**
- Understanding of safeguarding processes and how to raise concerns with external agencies. (E)
- Understanding of how to manage Welfare & Wellbeing Concerns raised by adults and young people. (E)
- Understanding of Occupational Compliance and H&S. (E)
- Experience in dealing professionally with challenging situations, particularly around safeguarding. Experience in communicating with parents, stakeholders, and external agencies sensitively and professionally. (E)
- Experience in training and teaching new skills to different learner levels to achieve one outcome and understanding.(D)
- Experience in prioritising a potentially emotive workload to ensure the best outcomes.(D)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. (E)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team. (E)
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. (E)
- Willingness to work unsocial hours, including evenings and weekends. (E)
- Regularly participate in and undertake relevant training and professional development (E)

**Qualifications**:

- Formal relevant Level 3 Safeguarding qualification (E)
- Club Welfare Officer qualification (or willing to obtain with the support of SWFCCP). (D)
- Relevant charity-related compliance qualifications (D)

**Salary**: £24,000.00-£26,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Hillsborough: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

- Safeguarding: 2 years (preferred)
