We are currently seeking a thoughtful, dynamic and knowledgeable **Senior Sommelier** to join our Fine Dining Restaurant, the Strathearn.

The on target earning potential for this role is £32,270 / annual salary - comprising a base salary of £26,270.71, plus a qualified estimate of £6,000 in gratuities and service charge.* As a member of the Gleneagles team, you will also enjoy a fantastic range of perks, benefits and rewards

- Sharing your incredible passion and depth of knowledge for wines and beverages with our guests; creatively and expertly advising on the selection of the perfect accompaniment to their chosen dish
- Creating a warm, exceptionally memorable wine experience for all our guests
- You’ll be nurturing and developing talent, ensuring that your passion and expertise is lived through others
- Instilling a culture of continuous development and innovation, identifying new ways to surprise and delight your guests and our people
- Imparting your vast knowledge to your team, ensuring a seamless, professional service, contributing to their development both professional and personal
- You’ll intuitively read the room, anticipating, and fulfilling the expectations of our guests; always warm, thoughtful, professional, and well groomed, you play your part in ensuring luxury service is our signature
- Engaging, motivating, and inspiring a strong and passionate wine team, you’ll ensure they consistently deliver exceptional service and are equally spell-bound by the magic and theatre of the experiences they create through wine
- Maintaining the highest standards of service, room preparation and presentation throughout the restaurant; you’ll be instrumental in making sure our service is always slick
- You’ll be proficiently up selling and encouraging other team members to do the same at every opportunity
- Taking a keen interest in the operation and develop suggestions as to ways of increasing quality of service
- Interacting with our guests, always warm, professional, helpful and doing everything you can to exceed their expectations; playing your part in making their stay with us luxurious in every way

**The kind of person **we're looking for**:

- You’ll have a strong working knowledge of fine-dining and quality service standards; WSET 2 is essential as a minimum, ideally having achieved your WSET 3
- Having had experience within a luxury hospitality environment would be ideal, however having a great attitude and passion for wine is essential
- Your perspective and approach are always fresh; no matter how many times an issue has been presented to you, to your guest it’s the first time
- With a keen eye for detail, an organised approach and willingness to exceed guest expectation, you want to be the best and work with the best - learning from the experts in our team and sharing your knowledge with us
- You have a high level of resilience and the ability to deal with fast-paced environments is essential
- Highly motivated and possessing an immense sense of pride in your work; you're passionate about delivering the high standards for our guests in line with the Gleneagles brand
- You have a positive “can do” attitude to solving problems in a professional and courteous manner
- A strong team player with great communication skills and an enthusiastic approach; you're well organised and punctual with an eagle eye for detail
