We are currently seeking inspirational, knowledgeable and supremely professional Head of Wine to join our food and Beverage division.

The on target earning potential for this role is £55,600 / annual salary based on a 39 hour contract - comprising a base salary of £50,000, plus a qualified estimate of £5,600 in gratuities and service charge.* As a member of the Gleneagles team, you will also enjoy a fantastic range of perks, benefits and rewards

Here's a bit more detail on what we see you doing in this role:
You’ll be evolving and elevating our wine programme across the estate, ensuring that it’s suitably differentiated and creative, making sure that the each of our restaurants and bar teams can share your vision with our guests.
Working with our Head Sommelier, you’ll identify, develop and implement wine training and educational programs to our sommelier team and the wider Food and Beverage division
Owning the Wines by glass programs throughout the estate; you’ll continuously refine the wine lists within The Strathearn, The Birnam and The Dormy Clubhouse
Collaboratively working with our cellar team together you’ll manage the purchasing and cellaring of all wines across the estate
Working in partnership with the Hotels wine consultant to identify future wine investment opportunities to drive the growth and success of the wine program
Sharing your incredible passion and depth of knowledge for wines and beverages with our guests; creatively and expertly advising in the selection of the perfect accompaniment to their chosen dish, and delivering a warm and memorable experience each and every time
Imparting your vast knowledge to our sommelier team and the service staff within Food and Beverage; ensuring a seamless, professional service and contributing to their overall development both professionally and personally
You’ll maintain the highest standards of service, room preparation and presentation throughout the restaurant; instrumental in making sure both our lunch and dinner operations run without a hitch, and our service is always slick
Proficiently upselling from our wine list, supporting and encouraging your team members to expertly and confidently do the same at every opportunity
Building strong working relationships with your colleagues, you’ll be part of a mighty team developing our wine and beverage offering across the estate
Interacting with our guests, always warm, professional, helpful and doing everything you can to exceed their expectations; playing your part in making their stay with us luxurious in every way

**The kind of person we're looking for**:
You have achieved and hold WSET Level 4 Diploma, CMS Advanced or equivalent
Having had experience within the luxury hospitality environment, with a strong track record of achievement
Your perspective and approach are always fresh; no matter how many times an issue has been presented to you, to your guest it’s the first time
You take pride and get great satisfaction in developing the sommelier team to the highest standard and improving the knowledge of the F&B division; you always strive to learn more, have a highly methodical approach and a determination to always exceed guest expectation
You thrive on challenge and are resilient with the ability to deal with fast-paced environments
Highly motivated and possessing an immense sense of pride in your work; you're passionate about delivering the high standards for our guests in line with the Gleneagles brand
You have a positive “can do” attitude to solving problems in a professional and courteous manner
