BARISTA & SHOP ALL-ROUNDER

BASICS:

- Make consistently great specialty coffee and a variety of drinks in a busy environment
- Engage in a friendly manner with our varied customer base and assist shoppers in finding products or answering questions (we get a wide mix of loyal regulars, passing customers and destination-tourists from all over the world, so you might get the chance to show off any language skills).
- Process customer transactions accurately using our point-of-sale system
- Maintain a clean and organized coffee area and assist with keeping the shop in order, including restocking shelves and arranging displays, receiving and unpacking merchandise
- Provide consistently positive customer service by addressing concerns and resolving issues
- Stay up-to-date on coffee & shop product knowledge to effectively communicate features and benefits to customers

SKILLS:

- Drinks preparation: ability to operate espresso coffee machinery, and dial-in, monitor & deliver consistently great specialty coffee; steam silky milk; prepare a variety of hot and cold drinks
- Ability to organize drinks orders and workflow under pressure
- Handle coffee and food items hygienically; have a high standard of personal cleanliness
- Helpful, friendly manner - show willingness to assist customers with their needs and provide excellent service
- Team attitude - you’ll be working within a small, welcoming & committed group; willingness to help with special food-related events important
- Basic math skills: proficiency in performing simple calculations, such as calculating discounts or totaling purchases
- Time management: ability to prioritize tasks, anticipate needs and manage work efficiently
- Initiative - like to be kept busy & hold a can-do attitude to varied roles required to keep our busy shop ticking

**Salary**: £10.00-£12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 20 per week
