**BAKER & KITCHEN ALL-ROUNDER**

ROLE BASICS:

- Produce a small range of house bakes to a consistently high standard to complement our range of pastries supplied by Vittle Bakeshop;
- Prepare a range of pickles, chutneys and sauces to accompany grilled cheese and sell in our shop;
- Prepare special grilled cheese fillings, deli & picnic items for direct sale to customers;
- Share in the cooking-to-order of grilled cheese as necessary;
- Assist with seasonal menu development, sourcing and ordering for grilled cheese & bakes menu;
- Maintain highest levels of cleanliness and assist with health and safety records;
- Opportunity to grow understanding of artisan cheese, drinks pairing, cooking with cheese & assisting with event development.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
We are looking for someone who is:

- Practiced in from-scratch baking and cooking. All menu items are made in-house using high quality ingredients and you will need to share in our ethos of doing our best to showcase the hard work and skill of some of the best producers in Ireland and the U.K.
- Methodical, logical and efficient. You aim to work in an organised manner to consistently high personal standards alone and as part of a small team.
- Self-motivated and can organise time carefully to anticipate the needs of our business; independent and conscientious. You like to be kept busy and can thrive in a buzzy environment, but can also manage switches in pace and be highly productive at quieter times.
- Self-critical and holds a good eye for detail. You can generate credible and creative ideas, improve upon mistakes, and always seek to produce consistently delicious food.
- Enthused by the opportunity to create enticing, seasonal bakes & grilled cheese menus and deli offerings. You stay up-to-date with wider food trends, but with a critical eye, are keen to grow your own knowledge independently, and care about provenance. _If you think crispy onions, sweet chilli and biscoff are viable menu ideas for our _customer _base, then we’re definitely not the right place for you._
- Aware of the most basic principles behind designing and costing menu items, sourcing ingredients and managing waste. You should be keen to help us reduce waste as we aim to become even more sustainable.
- Friendly and professional with customers. Your role may include cooking/prepping in the shop’s open kitchen as well as in the back kitchen area.
- Clean, tidy and creates an orderly, hygienic working environment. You will complete safe catering records and follow procedures consistently to maintain our 5-star rating.
