Reporting to the Home Ownership Manager, the Income Officer Leasehold will be responsible for ensuring that we deliver a high quality and comprehensive home ownership and leasehold arrears service, maximising recovery and reducing arrears.

Ensuring top quartile collection of major works billing, services charges and any other leasehold /home ownership debts. And that all outcomes reflect our approach of prevention, support and recovery. Providing advice on welfare, Universal Credit and managing debt and to make appropriate referrals to money advice and other support agencies.

Provide information and advice to residents about their rent, major works and service charge accounts along with the range of payment methods available.

As part of the Home Ownership Service, the Income Officer Leasehold will also coordinate refunds, and deal with leaseholder enquiries, complaints and leaseholder engagement.

**About the Job**

In this role the responsibility will of course be to ensure we deliver a high quality and comprehensive leasehold arrears service, maximising recovery and reducing arrears.

It will also has responsibility and ownership of a range of key deliverables which will include:

- Keep full, detailed and accurate records of all contact with residents and ensure the computer system is updated with details of rent arears actions.
- Ensuring the team work to achieve against all service plans, targets, budgets and resources.
- Responding to all customer enquiries and complaints within agreed service standards and where necessary, contact customers to clarify issues raised.
- To ensure that correct checks are undertaken to minimise the incidents of fraud within the service area’s and therefore protecting the council funding, resources and residential stock.

**About You**

A minimum of 2 years’ experience and extensive knowledge gained from working within the field of income, and arrears debt recovery.

A minimum of 1 years experiencing of leasehold income recovery for home ownership and major works.

A minimum of 1 years’ experience of working in a large local authority, social housing and or complex political organisation.
