We are recruiting for an Adventure Travel Executive to work in our busy Customer Sales and Support Team. As an Adventure Travel Executive you will support the sales team and work directly with customers to ensure that all arrangements are in place to enable them to have the very best travel experience possible.

KE Adventure Travel has been operating active adventure holidays throughout the world since 1984, and has grown to be one of the most respected adventure tour operators in the UK, and a market leader in this sector. We are based in beautiful Keswick in the Northern Lake District.

Anyone joining the company is likely to be passionate about adventure travel and the outdoors. They must also be dedicated to protecting the environment and supporting the company’s pledge to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

**The Role**

A support role within our busy Customer Sales and Support team. You will provide assistance to the sales team, and ensure that all post-booking administration is finalised prior to KE customers departing on their adventure holidays. We operate trips in more than 90 countries and sell in North America, Australasia and Europe, as well as the UK. So you will be dealing directly with customers and suppliers from around the world, ensuring that exceptional levels of service are delivered at all times.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Support the sales team to ensure that every possible sales opportunity is converted.
- Ensure that all enquiries and bookings are processed promptly.
- Follow the established booking process and ensure that all information entered is clear and accurate.
- Book additional services for customers such as hotel nights, transfers and extensions.
- Advise on travel practicalities including insurance, visas and health-related entry requirements.
- Work closely with the Flights team to ensure flight are an integral part of the booking process.
- Generate documentation to send to customers.
- Ensure that any correspondence sent is consistent in style and as per company guidelines.
- Answer the phones and make outbound calls. Deal with queries or direct calls as necessary.
- Ensure that the company has all necessary customer information prior to a trip departing.
- Ensure that all customers are happy and have everything they need prior to departure.
- Liaise directly with overseas ground agents and other suppliers, and ensure they have the latest trip information, including services booked and details of customers travelling.
- Man the KE ‘shop’ on a rota basis. Meet and greet customers and other visitors and ensure they are well looked after.
- Work closely with other teams, especially Product and Operations as necessary.
- Attend team and company meetings and training sessions
- Represent KE at all times, including on occasion at travel shows or events which may be outside of normal working hours

Flexibility is key - we are a relatively small team and it’s a seasonal business, so all team members must be willing to help out/support other roles and parts of the business at any time.

**Experience, Skills & Qualifications**:

- Maths and English GCSE as a minimum.
- Good with numbers and the written word
- Computer literate and competent using MS tools - especially Word and Outlook
- Excellent organisational and self-management skills
- A people person with great interpersonal skills and ability to interact with people from all backgrounds and walks of life
- Fun, friendly and caring with lots of positive energy
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Experience in the travel industry is preferred but not essential

**Working Hours and Location**:
We are ideally recruiting for a full-time position (37.5hrs). We are currently hybrid working, with most team members working a minimum of 2-3 days in our office in the centre of Keswick. We expect this to continue, with the balance of office and home working being continually reviewed as the needs of customers and the business evolve. Many team members prefer to be fully office-based, which works well as there is plenty of office/desk space available.
