Multi-trades Recruitment are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Student Misconduct Officer to join our institution. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing allegations of non-academic misconduct and ensuring compliance with the Student Disciplinary Regulations and Student Accommodation Regulations. You will conduct thorough investigations and manage casework, progressing cases through the disciplinary process in a timely manner.

Monday-Friday

40hours per week

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Draft allegations and Acceptable Behaviour Contracts in accordance with the relevant regulations.
- Conduct interviews with witnesses, complainants, and alleged perpetrators, maintaining accurate and comprehensive records.
- Liaise with external bodies, such as the police, as necessary.
- Present cases before Disciplinary Panels and Appeal Panels.
- Maintain meticulous and concise records of all proceedings.
- Convene and provide support to Disciplinary Panels and Appeal Panels as required.
- Act as Panel Secretary to Disciplinary Panels and Appeal Panels when necessary.
- Adhere to guidance from the Office of the Independent Adjudicator (OIA).
- Prepare responses to student complaints related to misconduct cases submitted to the OIA.
- Take appropriate action within the conditions of the accommodation License to Occupy.

**Additional Responsibilities**:

- Maintain and develop the student disciplinary case database.
- Monitor the effectiveness of regulations, forms, and guidance documents, proposing changes when needed.
- Foster collaborative relationships with other teams within the University, including those focused on student wellbeing, campus security, diversity and inclusion, and student complaints.
- Provide advice and guidance to colleagues on the prompt handling of student misconduct allegations.
- Facilitate informal dispute resolution methods when appropriate, following necessary training.
- Stay updated on legislation, case law, and codes of practice, implementing changes as directed by the Line Manager.
- Keep abreast of best practices within the sector and network with colleagues in the field.
- Organize and provide support and training to staff in dealing with student issues.
- Provide regular reports to the Line Manager regarding casework volume to assist in resource allocation and timely case resolution.
- Raise awareness of the Student Disciplinary Regulations and Student Accommodation Regulations among students and staff using various communication channels and networking opportunities.
- Draft responses to Freedom of Information Act requests pertaining to student misconduct matters within the directorate's scope.

**Requirements**:

- Practical working knowledge of disciplinary systems, processes, and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to conduct impartial investigations and maintain accurate records.
- Proficiency in presenting cases before disciplinary panels.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations, guidance, and legislation.
- Proactive approach to keeping updated with sector best practices and networking.
- Ability to provide advice and support to colleagues and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
