***Vulnerable children in the UK need your help**

Wherever you work in the Action for Children family, you'll be helping to change the lives of the most vulnerable children in the UK.

Last year, we helped more than 670,000 children and families across the UK. From direct work in communities to national campaigning, we are focused on making sure every child has a safe and happy childhood, and the foundations they need to thrive.

**About the service**

The home is for a young person who has a learning disability, complex needs and has experienced extensive trauma in his life. By creating a nurturing, attachment-based environment, you can ensure he gets the right support to foster his development.

At the same time, we will provide specialist learning, training and Supervision to speed your professional development - alongside a competitive rewards package.

We recognise that the young person we will be caring for can communicate behaviours which cause risk to himself and staff. In these instances, staff will be trained through the Positive Behaviour Management model to physically intervene accredited by BILD.

If you have experience as a Team Leader within residential care, we would love to hear from you.

**A bit about the role**

The young person's care will involve professional practice that is sensitive to his trauma history. Our model will provide an environment where he will receive positive experiences of reliable, consistent parenting through providing specific and structured care, with very clear consistent boundaries

You will lead a team of staff in supporting the young person with their day-to-day personal needs, working with your team to assess individual needs to develop tailored care plans.

You will help to maintain a safe and fun environment for both staff and children within the home and whilst out and about in the community.

**How you'll help to create brighter futures**

You will work with the Registered Manager in the day to day running of the home and deputise in their absence, whilst working as part of a multi disciplinary team ensuring that the children and young people we support develop to reach their full potential.
- Providing direct line management to a team of residential staff to deliver high standards of care.
- Leading shifts and supervising staff.
- Supporting Young People to achieve positive outcomes.
- Being an advocate for the wellbeing of the young people.
- Leading and assessing staff, carrying out supervisions, appraisals and risk assessments.

**Let's talk about you**
- A Level 3 Social Care Diploma or equivalent
- Experience of leading a team within a care setting
- Experience in a trauma informed setting, residential short breaks or children's services
- Experience of clear, concise record keeping via IT systems
