Do you have a nose for a good news story?

Carmarthenshire County Council is looking for a Media Officer to help secure great coverage across print, broadcast and digital media channels, and support journalists to create fair and balanced news.

Joining the Marketing and Media team, you’ll be working with colleagues across all departments to manage proactive and reactive publicity, helping raise awareness of council activity and priorities and communicating with a wide range of people.

The council needs someone with excellent writing and creative skills who can tell a story in a clear and engaging way and can build great relationships with the media.

As part of a hybrid working arrangement, the role will be a mix of office and remote working.

You will need to be able to communicate effectively in Welsh. Reasonable support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.
