REED Technology are pleased to be working with a large and established organisation based in Cornwall who are looking to recruit a**new Cyber Security Engineer** to join their team.

Reporting to the Cyber Security Manager, this is a newly created role, will see you helping to ensure the development and maintenance of security standards across the organisation’s IT service

This role comes with an attractive benefits package of which includes a 10% performance bonus and remote / flexible / hybrid working.

This role will be predominantly home-based with infrequent travel required to the Cornwall office.

**Responsibilities**:

- Accountable for the daily management of the security incident/service request queue in alignment with agreed service levels including dealing with escalations from more junior members of the team
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of security processes, procedures, strategies and service designs.
- Accountable for the leading of the organisation’s vulnerability assessment and management programme
- Producing and maintaining high-level and low-level designs for security systems as well as procedure documentation
- Conducting formal assurance and security diligence exercises on new and existing systems and provide assistance and direction to ensure IT projects are delivered with the appropriate security controls and compliance requirements.

**You will have**:

- 2 years+ technical security experience, ideally within a large IT environment.
- Expertise and experience with a broad range security related technologies such as firewalls, proxy servers, IPS/IDS, SIEM, Endpoint protections
- Proactive interest in industry developments and cybersecurity solutions.
- Working knowledge of recognised security standards and architectural patterns i.e. SANS, CIS, NIST, NCSC (E) and/or PCI-DSS.
