**Job summary**:
We are seeking experienced digital forensic practitioners who are able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of digital forensic processes and procedures in a laboratory environment, looking for the next challenge of their career.

Working in a digital forensic laboratory, you’ll play an important role in the acquisition and subsequent analysis and examination of an array of digital devices; securing and preserving digital data, to produce reports and provide evidence, in support of Agency investigations.

**To be considered, you will need to successfully complete SC Enhanced clearance before commencing the role and achieve DV clearance within the first 12 months in post.**

**Job description**:
Working closely with digital forensic operations officers and investigation teams alike, you will also have the opportunity to drive innovation in order to change the way we operate. Providing specialist advice and guidance on digital forensic opportunities, you will ensure requirements are captured and delivered to our quality standards.

This role requires individuals to have an active interest in evolving technologies, who can maintain and develop their technical skillset, knowledge and awareness of the rapidly advancing technology and digital forensic landscapes.

Although this post is laboratory-based there will be some requirement to travel throughout the UK, and potentially internationally; sometimes at short-notice, involving some anti-social/long hours.

**Person specification**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain a portfolio of technical competencies in relation to the acquisition, processing and analysis of digital media;
- Effective exhibit management, ensuring evidential continuity and integrity;
- Assist and promote the attainment, maintenance and continuous improvement of ISO 17025:2017 accreditation and forensic regulation for digital forensic laboratory activity;
- Contribute to tasked Agency activity, gathering evidence and intelligence in accordance with legislation, risk management and policy, to disrupt and degrade criminal capability;
- Provide digital forensic advice and guidance to NCA teams on a range of digital investigative opportunities;
- Conduct laboratory based digital forensic examinations of digital media to obtain optimum intelligence/evidence, in line with accreditation and legislation;
- Mentor and encourage the development of junior digital forensics officers;
- Maintain accurate records and reporting for evidential production, including testimony at court as required;
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to foster collaborative working.
