Brent Children’s Community Nursing Team are looking to recruit a full time or part-time Band 7 Team Lead. We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Nurse who has a wealth of experience and clinical skills within the field of Children’s Nursing.

The post holder will work as part of the Brent Children’s Community Nursing Team, taking overall responsibility for a caseload and also perform the role of team lead to junior colleagues. The post holder is required to work closely within a multi-disciplinary setting.

This post offers a great opportunity for an experienced Paediatric Nurse to further develop their management skills within the community setting.

To work as part of the Children’s Community Nursing Team, taking overall responsibility for the assessment, management and evaluation of evidenced based nursing care to children and their families or carers.

To work in conjunction with the CCN Service Manager in managing the resources of the Team, including staff, in line with professional standards and quality of care.

To provide managerial cover in the absence of the Specialist Nursing Service Manager.

- To take continued responsibility for the assessment, management and evaluation of skilled nursing care in negotiation with the child and family
- To work in a collaborative manner with other agencies to ensure a seamless delivery of care to families
- To provide information and support to facilitate the child’s and family’s own choices with regards to nursing care
- To promote Health Education as an integrated aspect of care delivery
- To lead complex discharge planning and assessment of a child’s needs, ensuring detailed communication with discharging hospital and safe discharge for the child and family
- To maintain accurate, systematic and timely record keeping including recording of clinical data.
- To provide skilled, effective, evidenced based nursing care for children with complex care needs including technology dependent such as tracheostomy care and central venous access.
- To manage the safe administration of cytotoxic drugs in the community
- To ensure safe handling of body fluids and contaminated sharps in personal practice and within the team
- To work as an autonomous and lone specialist practitioner
