Department: Global Business Services (GBS)

Reports to: GBS Indirect Tax Manager

Hours: 37 ¾ hours per week

Location: Lurgan, Northern Ireland

Position Overview

The UK GBS Indirect Tax Team provides VAT support to multiple Terex entities across EMEA. Working alongside the Indirect Tax Manager, the Indirect Tax Lead will be responsible for ensuring the effective management of indirect tax reporting obligations and indirect tax governance.

This is an indirect tax leadership role and will report into the Indirect Tax Manager. The role requires skills in leading, decision-making, influencing, and coaching others, sound judgment, good communications, organisational knowledge and self-management.

**Responsibilities**:

- Day to day management of a team of indirect tax professionals.
- Responsibility for VAT compliance reporting deadlines. Ensuring on-time reporting in line with operational metrics.
- Review of journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations.
- Management of the VAT balance sheet accounts for all Terex companies supported by the Business Tax team.
- Management of statutory and tax authority audits.
- Management and maintenance of ERP Tax Determination functionality.
- Management of the VAT balance sheet accounts for all Terex companies supported by the Indirect Tax team.
- Ensuring the on-going adherence to existing internal controls.
- Manage relationships with third party service providers and tax authorities.
- Implementation of the organisations Indirect Tax Governance policy.
- Ensure effective business partnering and act as a strong representative for GBS Indirect Tax.
- Partner with the IT function on indirect tax digital compliance projects and ERP updates/implementations.
- Maintain continuous dialogue with key corporate office team members across Corporate Accounting, Tax, Treasury, and Legal to ensure VAT compliance and alignment with company direction.
- Drive initiatives to improve current VAT processes and any other projects that may arise in the Indirect tax area.
- Guide, coach, and develop Indirect Tax team members to support the growth of the VAT compliance function, using clear constructive communication that will allow the team to work towards established goals.
- Ensuring indirect tax compliance by monitoring changes in international VAT law/regulations that are relevant to Terex.

Required Qualifications
- Fully qualified tax / accounting professional.
- Proven track record of indirect tax experience within a manufacturing, shared services or practice-based environment.
- Demonstrable experience leading a team within a finance function.
- UK and European VAT knowledge.
- Demonstratable experience within Oracle.
